An EKG machine stands for an electrocardiogram.  It graphically records the electrical activity of the muscles of the heart.  It is able to identify normal and abnormal heart beats and thus is an extremely useful diagnostic tool.  It can detect high blood pressure, chemical imbalances, and general heart deformations that can be indicative of heart disease.  It’s an essential part of any hospital or doctor’s office.
