Believe it or not but in the soccer coaching drills, some coaches ignore the passing drills. In soccer, passing the ball is the most vital thing to master because it’s the only skill that will help you become a match winner. In youth soccer drills, include a variety of sports and events in order to hone the player’s talent of passing the ball.

Teach the Basics: Start with the fundamentals. Break the team up into two and give a ball to each team. Ask them to pass and control the ball among themselves.

This way you can find out the areas that your players need to work upon. Also, you will be able to judge the level of passing that each player possesses. You are then in a position to evaluate each player’s growth.

The Moving Circle: Variety of events can be of use in teaching ball passing to players. One such soccer coaching drill is where two players stand in a circle and the other team members outside it.

Then the players inside the circle attempt to intercept the ball thrown at them by the players outside. After the ball is caught by any one player in the circle, he will be replaced by a player forming the circle. Soccer practice drills like these provide the opportunity to players to learn and develop in an enjoyable manner.
