Activities in Tinos
Tinos Town is known for its Church of the Annunciation, attracting pilgrims from all over the world to its shrine with the miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, discovered in the 1830’s. In the town’s harbour, you can observe boats, ranging from simple fishing boats to splendid sailing yachts. Enjoy the hustle & bustle of a small Greek Island town, its bars and restaurants, with terraces overlooking the sea or in small narrow streets, with local arts & craft shops.
Discover Tinos Island’s unspoilt stretches of golden sandy or pebble beach, its crystal clear blue sea, inviting you for a swim, scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, sailing, wind surfing, …
Dreamy, charming Greek villages are scattered all over the island, with dazzling white painted walls, blue shutters, and flowers everywhere. Visit the island’s convents; go for a drive through the rugged, unmatched countryside, dotted with the typical Tinian dovecots, dating back to Venetian times.
Take a 20 minute boat trip and visit the renowned and worldly island of Mykonos, with its trendy boutiques and bars & restaurants. Or take the boat to the island of Delos, where the god Apollo was born, and wander through the ancient ruins, imagining yourself in a Greek settlement of the 2nd century BC .
